Jr Kaws Basketball is operated for the charitable and educational purposes of empowering youth through basketball, to foster skills, teamwork, respect and embrace competition with integrity and sportsmanship.

Start Smart Basketball
Fall Season (Sept-Oct)
Start Smart Basketball teaches children (ages 3-5) the basic motor skills necessary to play organized basketball while they work one-on-one and spend quality time with their parents. The program focuses on teaching children and their parents skills in dribbling/ball handling, passing/catching, shooting and running/agility without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Held once a week for 6 weeks, and each week the exercises become increasingly more difficult as the class progresses and the children show improvement.

Jr Kaws Rec League
Winter I Season (Oct-Dec)
The Jr Kaws Rec League is our traditional format. Players will practice once per week and play on Saturdays against their age division for six games. Divisions are arranged by grade level and are subject to change pending registrations.
Kindergarten - 3v3 Coed
1st/2nd - 3v3 Boys and 3v3 Girls
3rd/4th - 5v5 Boys and 5v5 Girls
5th/6th - 5v5 Boys and 5v5 Girls

Jr Kaws Tournament League
Winter II Season (Jan-Feb)
Established in 2027, players in 2nd grade and older will have the opportunity to compete in a minimum of three local tournaments. Tournaments guarantee an amount of games that will be played on either a Saturday or Sunday. Travel is required for this league. Locations can include: Rossville, Holton, Rockcreek, Perry or any other town within the league for USD 343.
